Texas College English Association
“The Idea of Texas: Truth, Myth, and Legend”
Writers and scholars are invited to submit works that explore the idea of Texas—what it is, what it means, what it suggests. We welcome original Texas-related creative writing as well as critical analyses of “The Idea of Texas” as found in literature, drama, film, popular culture, music, dance, visual arts, and photography.
Reading/Presentation Time: 15 minutes maximum (around 8 pages). Scholarly submissions (never previously presented or published) may be complete papers or abstracts of 250-300 words. Poetry, fiction or creative non-fiction must be complete when submitted. Submissions will be judged by the TCEA Board through a blind review process.

Publication: Presenters will have the opportunity to submit their works for publication in SCOL: Scholarship and Creativity On Line, A Publication of the Texas College English Association; one presentation will also be selected for CCTE Studies.
TCEA sessions are scheduled
in conjunction with the
Annual Meetings of the
Conference of College Teachers of English.
